Quotes about Conceptual and Process Art

“Concept art is first of all an art of which the material is concepts, as the material of eg music is sound. Since concepts are closely bound up with language, concept art is a kind of art of which the material is language.”
- Henry Flint, from “Concept Art”(1961)

“Conceptual art was the point at which the conception of the artwork as an object of visual or, more broadly, spatial experience and pleasure was most directly and radically challenged...artists contested the aesthetic definition of the artwork by highlighting the role of ideas in the production of meaning from visual forms...Any attempt at a definition of conceptual art immediately runs up against the problem that definition is one of the main things at stake in conceptual art itself. Conceptual art, one might say, is art about the cultural act of definition...”
- Peter Osborne, Conceptual Art (Phaidon, 2002)

Art*umentary Series

Conceptual Art exploration of Art Based solutions for community change management:

Introduction

Imagine a video appetizer where ingredients are re-envisioned and thoughtfully combined.

From the Cultural Fusion Art as Philosophy (cfAaP) series (inquiry into alternatives to protest art) this video has been inspired by love of endearing puppets, Public Service Announcements from my childhood, memories of guest speakers, life lessons and business trainings.

The professor speaks for several "role voices" as he gives a brief introduction of why this and why now. While the video is another step in transforming conflict, making contrast and convergence work - seeing how it can work.

Since I might forget if I don't note it here - prof. hans as part of symbolic theme and reference to interest in new applications for Art Based research models.

Art*umentary: ArtSpeaks, from icon to maverick hero

From the Art*umentary in Context series, ArtSpeaks features the iconic Farmer from the famous American Gothic painting sharing insights from his journey from art history icon to social entrepreneur innovator.

What if "The Farmer" from the American Gothic Painting by Grant Wood were a real farmer trying to survive today? Now imagine that surviving meant becoming a social entrepreneur.
In this video you learn about the changes he had to make to maximize the success of the new enterprise.

From the Cultural Fusion Art as Philosophy (cfAaP) series (inquiry into alternatives to protest art) this video pays homage to those inside the artist's studio type documentaries mashed up with serious investigative documentaries that blow the lid off of something.

This video continues with business as conceptual performance art and solution. Where other artists have pioneered business as performance for socially progressive dialogues, my interest is in developing Art as solution.
Art speaks plays with this idea to embody the farmer from the famed American Gothic painting as a business innovator.
The artful and the bottom line converge with the call to action (note- for blog topic)
In business a point of delineation is that there must be a call to action.
Here that is expressed by the Maverick Hero training offer.

Art*umentary:Birth of the Maverick Hero, maverick hero inspiration

From the Cultural Fusion Art as Philosophy (cfAaP) series (inquiry into alternatives to protest art) this conceptual video has been inspired by Public Service Announcements and business testimonials. As an artist, this video marks another step in exploring business as conceptual performance art and solution. Where other artists, such as William Pope.L have pioneered business as performance for socially progressive dialogues, my interest is in developing Art as solution via the Maverick and Hero archetypes.
Attention flow continues to be terrain I am exploring, from alternating perspectives- internal path vs external results.
In business a point of delineation is that there must be a call to action.
Here that is expressed by the Maverick Hero training offer.
