How has what I have learned been integrated into this path of inspiration?

Gil Scott-Heron features this quote on his homepage: http://gilscottheron.net/

"No matter how far wrong you've gone, You can always turn around.

                                                                                          Looking to the future"

Ethnographic Framework

Attentoin to history and art define a range of textures and hues that I have been trying to simplify but that doesn't feel like the right thing to do. It is something I have been taught - presented as an intellectual ideal. However that is not the path of innovation that is following. There is nothing wrong wth following the key is in beng aware of what you follow and why.

From the inside of flow - how do we understand processes?  What needs to be understood about inclusive processes and systemic governance that supports them. Capacity development and co-governance metrics will provide measures that help remedy systemic corruption by paying more attention to social capital without pushing against deregulation. Instead capacity building integrates lessons in Complex Adaptive Systems and participation in policy development. Barriers to the point(s) of entry can be reduced by using art.

The cultural tradition that inspires is repected as its own classial context. So as the work produces a roadmap for community by sharing Ingredients for the Recipe each one is invited to participate in creating - Scaling Stone Soup

Only this time the context for serving it, is regarded as equally important to the relationship to the ingredients, their process and source.

How does this inform learning practice, co-governance, technology development,  and economic development within art movements?

Community interventions for systems/indivduals in crisis (regardless of stage) can more effectively and efficiently delivered within a context addressing present needs. For those who are stuck - as in conflict wth self or others - new models need to pay attention to rather than lock away this reality. Source:Inspiration is an alternative.

Many people have made the case for how media, art and popular culture shape personal/community identity. But what is the alternative? To create our own maps based on our own touchstones and then share this with others. What I learned in The Storyteller project process in what is peace - oral traditions are a cultural legacy. During a recent visit with my father in law we had an interesting conversation about the Health Care Reform Bill - later informed by my (step)mother-in-law suggesting I contact another in-law who works for a nonprofit serving low income communities to get another perspectve.

Later, I made note, the kids need to recognize that this is how he contributes to this tradition - following his impulse to share what he has learned and continues to learn. I have a folder where we save his daily emails for the list that includes us - puns, the history of words and sayings, birds and other wildlife with an occassional family announcement about some achievement. It is important that a generatoin of multi-racial people have a historical frame of refrence that can actually support equalty as a systemic norm.

If it is necessary to provide "For example..." to learn about how the road map is created then the first lines drawn for this preliminary sketch - as a communication tool for the team, then I begin with my own need to explore the diversity of the cultural legacies I have embraced starting with the one I came to know first, part of my inspirational foundation that I enjoy as part of an intellectual tradition that is ALIVE.

Other cultural resources are scattered as notes in different places, they will be posted to the appropriate place in relationship to specific process nd contexts

Now I start with

Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blacklist

A blacklist (or black list) is a list or register of persons who, for one reason or another, are being denied a particular privilege, service, mobility, access or recognition. As a verb, to blacklist can mean to deny someone work in a particular field, or to ostracize a person from a certain social circle. Conversely, a whitelist is a list or compilation identifying persons or organizations that are accepted, recognized, or privileged.

How can develop a deeper relationship to this work (The Blacklist Project) in the context of the oral tradition which it very eloquently modernizes?

The Blacklist Project has helped inform my thinking about resources for a culture where the value of reading a set of information has to be established first. This is an insight that can revolutionize capacity building strategies It is a valuable resource in the scaling up of the lessons learned in Emanuel's paper. More Attention must go to alternatives to marginalization. The Blacklist Project content can offer valuable insights along sided Pauline's work in Cartographic Storytelling using a unit study approach foundation to a co-directed learning process .

As a scalable model it will transfer up. In a celebrity obsessed popular culture how can people wth wisdom to share be encouraged to do so? Back to the oral traditions repository of what is peace? now that i see why peace is not enough but it is a place to start.

In discussing with someone "pro poor" policy where i stated my understanding based on the etymology of the word. What word says what we mean?

I LOVE dogs - walking and sitting wth dogs relaxes me. (so does looking up to watch the treetops dance and birdwatching)

Dogs know us as energy and so being with them keeps me aware of my own energy. The price of not following the paths most tread is that one must learn to be ones own source and meet a different standard for engaing other energy sources. If we focus on capacity building and more meaningful CSR standards then this conversation/the work becomes much less abstract and undeniably real.

Dog trainng is about communication not subjugation. Even before finding out about Caesar Milan we were using the same methods with our dogs. I came to it the approach after failing miserably. The next time out I studied the breed and came to understand the pack concept, more importantly the place Ii had to have in it for life with a big dog and small children to work. Dogs are one of the things my husband and I share a passion for - fortunately we both prefer the larger dog breeds. I beleive it has to do with the energy of our specific dogs however who have all been fairly large - but not exceptionlly so for their breeds.

Dog lover - Favorite breeds are Rottweiller, English Mastiff, and more recently the BullMastiff

Wishlist to gain more experience with more wonderful dogs from these breeds: Irish WolF Hound,, New Foundlands, short haired St Benard,

With dogs words have to match energy - energy matter more than words - energy and action create the experiences that teach - how learning happens.

Cooperation, respect, appreciation, love, honesty, consistent - steady

Freedom - Choice

Motherhood, even when not explicit in what I do, it is the type of blood circulating through me but the value in a role which is really a lifestyle choice is rooted in something deeper when we talk about Choices in the context of Freedom

liberated from the realm of "lesser of two eviils"  or "the devil you know is better than the one you don't"

Collaboration

Collaboration emerging from Source:Convergence

History has been what it has been because of the contributions, detractors, and moments we have paid attention to in creating our touchstones. The stones you touch to identify the path being followed.

What happens when those touchstones, followed because... , aren't taking you in the right direction? Pay attention to new touchstones. This does not exclusively put everything pror on the rubbish heap, instead take a lesson from recycling and transform the whole context. Pay attention and share noteble moments along the journey focusing on insights that lead to meaningful collborations as a qualitative measure.

By recognizing the value of willing - self initiatied collaboation to address a situation that will not get simpler just because we want it to, it is complex and that is real. What I have reently learned from the person who has very generously shared his work in community capacity building  and co-governance.

- for learning,

- help for small businessess

Here is excerpt of my reply to the one that helped me nail down this first piece and it has acted as a "You are here" marker on the map.

I am so excited about what you have done!

I would ask you to consider the use of the term pro-poor. Part of what you touch on ni your paper is the power of open dialogue to reach group consensus. This suggest that words have meannig or contribute to meannigful contxt. Art as as philosophy at the most basic level looks as the enthographic and etymological frame work of "charged" words. My inquiry with its conceptual & process art framework  - Cultural Fusion Art as Philosophy & SoulFoodd is using this work to define - demonstrate an intellectual tradition and how it is evolving. Your paper  I believe has a role to play in that journey and to understand the specifics of that I look at thiis phrase "pro poor"

pro poor

pro-Look up pro- at Dictionary.com
prefix meaning "before, forward, in favor of, in place of," from L. pro "on behalf of, in place of, before, for," also in some cases from cognate Gk. pro "before, in front of," both from PIE *pro-, extended form of base *por- "forward, through" (cf. Skt. para "beyond," pra- "before, forward, forth;" Gk. paros "before," para- "from beside, against, beyond;" Goth. faura "before," O.E. fore "before, for, on account of," fram "forward, from"). Pro and con is attested from c.1400, short for pro and contra "for and against" (L. pro et contra).

poorLook up poor at Dictionary.com
c.1200, from O.Fr. poure (Fr. pauvre), from L. pauper "poor," perhaps a compound of paucus "little" and parare "to get." Replaced O.E. earm. Poorhouse is from 1781. The poor boy sandwich, made of simple but filling ingredients, was invented and named in New Orleans in 1921. To poor mouth "deny one's advantages" is from 1965 (to make a poor mouth "whine" is Scot. dial. from 1822). Slang poor man's ________ "the cheaper alternative to _______," is from 1854.

Pro Poor means "for" policy that encourages "denying one's advantages"

What we want however is something else - What we want and need are policies which help define and create standards for valuation. The metrics you use in capacity building are the key. The bottom line however is that the proof was in getting it done and saving money previously wasted to support corruption as a rule of the system. Therefore you have identified something unaccounted for in complexity theory or perhaps it is under developed?

The valuation of the intangibles the "poor" do have are as important, if not more so than what they don't have. Which played the biggest role in the co-governance success you are talknig about in your paper.

Perhaps that is a tanget you don't want to go too deeply into in this paper but this, I guess, the question I have for you ...

Thank you so much for sharing thiis with me. Even if you decide not to change anything in your paper I would like your thoughts on this matter of defiining or redefining "pro poor policies"

What are the alternatives to arguing about various system reforms at incremental levels of change or pushing against the weight of institutions?

This is just the kind of situation I was taught requres patience and compassion.

So I try to appreciate that in their committment to their Mission Statements they must stand in that place to guard That door to Those resources. That's loyalty.

But doing what has been done wll keep us where we have been.

New territory and the identification of resourcs and valuatoin of intangible assets require particpation at the research levels to have an impact on policy in ways that do not make worse weakness in the systems wth we cooperation or collaborate.

Freedom

Then I see this in a bigger framework, for my Mom that would probably be religous, but it seems this page is an attempt to get at what that is for me because to just art does not feel adequate. I believe it is the understanding that to go from wanting freedom to being Free is to realize that although I can build doors, I can also build roads and much more.

Collaboration and Freedom must be together - Paradox?

I had a friend who use to insist this was because I was Sag, more recently Kerry and Ii had a laugh about how a numerology and human desgn report all pointed these kind of contradictions as a central theme coming up in the work.. It is in the challenge to not be thrown off balance by the paradox without needing to deny it that presents the seeds for Source:Inspiration

Music as change

Build on where love exist and build on that to take action for the greater good that also honors those we love most.

Kevin sent me this song just as I was updating a few people via Twitter about some of my progress wth Morphle, so I post it here as t has injected a vibe that I wish to include and share as a spice aka SoulFood:Vibe in this concoction called Source:Inspiration where it is a SoulFood:Ingredient

Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harmonic_%28mathematics%29

Harmonic (mathematics)

In mathematics, a number of concepts employ the word harmonic. The similarity of this terminology to that of music is not accidental: the equations of motion of vibrating strings, drums and columns of air are given by formulas involving Laplacians; the solutions to which are given by eigenvalues corresponding to their modes of vibration. Thus, the term "harmonic" is applied when one is considering functions with sinusoidal variations, or solutions of Laplace's equation and related concepts.

Observation: What I learn from how I have been using Twitter as a knowledgemanagemnt tool - how does that relate to the questions that arise when considering exploration of collaborative action to create policy and see it implemented according to a sense we all can understand as fairness. Complexity of participation can be used to inform new teaching models within performance art that is in part a response to multiple dialogues - streams of engagement that is genuinely appreciating every contribution...every step that keeps me in an attitude that can facilitate another collaboration that can be scaled up to help greater numbers of people...to literally do more with what is available.

What if history referred to triumphs of the spirit where someone was inspired to create work that inspires someone else to create as an expression of what is informng a modern understanding of human rights, no longer teachnig that history defined by wars means more than a history defined by art .

Sharp Curves Ahead

The Tyranny of the Maroity jolts my attention back to the road just before a nearly missed curve in the road that could send my vehicle spining - flipping over But before that can happen I feel my hands take hold of the wheel that is steering my life

I can not control the wind, the vehicles or people around me, a dam that could break and send water hurling at me

BUT

I can control whether or not my attention is on what I am doing

take this first step which best prepares me to make those on a dime decisions that are required to survive sharp curves along the road

Grateful the road is paved

before the revolution it was someone else's road I had to follow

When I led  the revolution I learned to pave my own roads

Paving roads that others could follow

the revolution that matters is inside me

I don't care if the revolution is not televised

I care that the revolution is our evolution

Evolution is not linear

I have to navigate the curves in the road

The revolution has gone live

And so I live.

History

Original versions

It first appeared on the 1970 album Small Talk at 125th and Lenox, on which Scott-Heron recited the piece, accompanied only by congas and bongo drums.

A re-recorded version, this time with a full band, appeared on the 1971 album Pieces of a Man, and on the double A-sided single "Home Is Where The Hatred Is"/"The Revolution Will Not Be Televised."

All these releases were issued on the Flying Dutchman Productions label. The piece's name was also used as the title to Scott-Heron's "Best of" album, issued in 1998 by RCA.

Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gil_Scott-Heron

Gil Scott-Heron (born April 1, 1949) is an American poet, musician, and author known primarily for his late 1970s and early 1980s work as a spoken word soul performer and his collaborative work with musician Brian Jackson. His collaborative efforts with Jackson featured a musical fusion of jazz, blues and soul music, as well as lyrical content concerning social and political issues of the time, delivered in both rapping and melismatic vocal styles by Scott-Heron. The music of these albums, most notably Pieces of a Man and Winter in America in the early 1970s, influenced and helped engender later African-American music genres such as hip hop and neo soul. Scott-Heron's recording work is often associated with black militant activism and has received much critical acclaim for one of his most well-known compositions "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised". On his influence, Allmusic wrote "Scott-Heron's unique proto-rap style influenced a generation of hip-hop artists".[1]

What are the actual words to the poem that inspired me at the start?

The Revolution Will Not Be Televised

You will not be able to stay home, brother.
You will not be able to plug in, turn on and cop out.
You will not be able to lose yourself on skag and skip,
Skip out for beer during commercials,
Because the revolution will not be televised.

The revolution will not be televised.
The revolution will not be brought to you by Xerox
In 4 parts without commercial interruptions.
The revolution will not show you pictures of Nixon
blowing a bugle and leading a charge by John
Mitchell, General Abrams and Spiro Agnew to eat
hog maws confiscated from a Harlem sanctuary.
The revolution will not be televised.

The revolution will not be brought to you by the
Schaefer Award Theatre and will not star Natalie
Woods and Steve McQueen or Bullwinkle and Julia.
The revolution will not give your mouth sex appeal.
The revolution will not get rid of the nubs.
The revolution will not make you look five pounds
thinner, because the revolution will not be televised, Brother.

There will be no pictures of you and Willie May
pushing that shopping cart down the block on the dead run,
or trying to slide that color television into a stolen ambulance.
NBC will not be able predict the winner at 8:32
or report from 29 districts.
The revolution will not be televised.

There will be no pictures of pigs shooting down
brothers in the instant replay.
There will be no pictures of pigs shooting down
brothers in the instant replay.
There will be no pictures of Whitney Young being
run out of Harlem on a rail with a brand new process.
There will be no slow motion or still life of Roy
Wilkens strolling through Watts in a Red, Black and
Green liberation jumpsuit that he had been saving
For just the proper occasion.

Green Acres, The Beverly Hillbillies, and Hooterville
Junction will no longer be so damned relevant, and
women will not care if Dick finally gets down with
Jane on Search for Tomorrow because Black people
will be in the street looking for a brighter day.
The revolution will not be televised.

There will be no highlights on the eleven o'clock
news and no pictures of hairy armed women
liberationists and Jackie Onassis blowing her nose.
The theme song will not be written by Jim Webb,
Francis Scott Key, nor sung by Glen Campbell, Tom
Jones, Johnny Cash, Englebert Humperdink, or the Rare Earth.
The revolution will not be televised.

The revolution will not be right back after a message
bbout a white tornado, white lightning, or white people.
You will not have to worry about a dove in your
bedroom, a tiger in your tank, or the giant in your toilet bowl.
The revolution will not go better with Coke.
The revolution will not fight the germs that may cause bad breath.
The revolution will put you in the driver's seat.

The revolution will not be televised, will not be televised,
will not be televised, will not be televised.
The revolution will be no re-run brothers;
The revolution will be live.
