Attention:Movement

Movement is that which has no beginning, no end.

- Jiddhu Krishnamurti

Attention Mapping

An example of such a perspective is Love and Attention.

- The flow of energy from the whole to the parts is called Love;

- The flow of energy from the parts to the whole is called Attention.

The two sides of this perspective form a Attention:Bilocality.

This is the static side, the law of two, apparantly opposites.

- The whole is content, is fullness beyond measure, infinity, meaning. WHAT without HOW.

- The parts are borders, are emptiness, are forms, containers for the whole, definitions, words. HOW without WHAT

The parts gives way to the whole, as the whole fills the parts.

There is also a dynamic side, one of Movement as in the four seasons.

- spring is where you are no longer in the parts, and on your way to the whole;

- summer is where you are in the whole;

- autumn is where you are no longer in the whole, and on your way to the parts;

- winter is where you are in the parts.

An example of the dynamic side of a mapping is Woman and Man, or Soul and Mind.

- spring: the Man pays Attention to the Woman;

- summer: the Woman feels this Attention. As a result, she opens up her Soul.

- autumn: the Woman radiates Love to the Man;

- winter: the Man feels this Love. As a result, he opens up his Mind.

- spring: the Man pays even more Attention to the Woman

What happens is that

- from the perspective of the parts, the Mind of the Man is fed by the Love of the Woman

- from the perspective of the whole, the Soul of the Woman is fed by the Attention of the Man

Male language version

There is some more strange going on. If you pay attention to where your attention is, the latter will disappear. This is riding the edge of the wave. Usually, it is much easier to focus on one side, and accept the need for the other side. The more one focusses on one side, the more they become aware of the vacuum at the other end. The usual term for this awareness is pain, or suffering, or creativity, or sometimes frustration. But it is nothing else than a need for Love (parts perspective). What happens next is that the pain is too much to bear and "the need to bridge the gap (Anthony Storr) is was moves people into action. The Man tells the Woman to Love him; he listens to her claim that he should pay Attention to her. They both wait for the other person to start first. As you can see, this attitude is not How it's going to work.
